Bio
The scene is late 2001 in the Hunters Point area of San Francisco, California. Here, in a local pub, Flexx Bronco formed with the idea to merge their collective love of rock icons, punk music and drunken country-stomp sing-alongs into one big, dirty, sexy show. What resulted was a fusion of sound drawing comparisons to the southern rock style of Hank III, the classic rock-punk sounds of Social Distortion and the driving rock anthems of Nashville Pussy. The five members of Flexx Bronco are Whiskey Devil on vocals, Filthy and Hiassin Thrash on guitars, Guy Thunderbird on the bass guitar and Thor Bigsby beating the drums.
Much has happened in the years since that fateful day, and most recently, the band’s notoriety has been evidenced by the caliber and frequency of their live shows. Through 2005 and 2006, Flexx Bronco played over 120 shows throughout the western U.S. with acts like The Supersuckers, Demented Are Go, Agent Orange, and Faster Pussycat as well as a number of dates on the Van’s Warped Tour in 2006. Winner of 107.7 The Bone Bash Battle of the Bands 2006 with over 15,000 cumulative votes, Flexx Bronco played for 20,000 people at Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, California opening for Tesla, Sammy Hagar and Lynyrd Skynyrd.
The self-released CD titled Volume I, produced by Roger Sommers (Rage Against the Machine, Rod Stewart) features tracks which have been synched to television commercials on the Fuse Network, Spike and ESPN. Tony Sison of All Access Magazine raves, “… sheer energy [is] emitted from this amazingly powerful lineup of songs. If you don't have Volume I or haven't heard of Flexx Bronco, you are missing out BIG TIME! 100 % guaranteed to get your rocks off!”
This band is not looking for any handouts. They are constantly developing their stage show and looking for more dynamic ways to keep people entertained. Flexx Bronco is working on new tracks and planning summer west coast tours and showcases for 2007. Check www.myspace.com/flexxbronco or www.flexxbronco.com for more details.
